| "Dottee" we purchased in March of 2009, with a caution from her owner that because of a horrifying experience with a trainer, she could be a bit unpredictable and would most likely never be trustworthy under saddle. Well, the only quirk from the ground that we have found is that she doesn't like trailing ropes around her. She is respectful and responsive, and though she may never be a saddle horse, we hope to have some beautiful babies from her. She is homozygous for both the tobiano gene and the black gene, so any offspring from her with our stallion will be a guaranteed homozygous (tobiano) foal. We have plans of producing our next herd sire with the two of them. She foaled a beautiful homozygous bay filly on May 9th, 2010. I will definitely be breeding her back for 2011. |
