| We purchased "Skipper" in September of 2007, thinking that I could have a mare that would serve for breeding and riding in her off seasons. She can be a bit hesitant with new experiences, but does not get silly. She has been ridden into the Bob Marshall Wilderness and does great on the trail with strange horses. She is still green on reining, but is a very quick learner. She has some natural horsemanship ground work and will yield to pressure. She can be aggressive with the other mares when pasture breeding with the stallion, so I suggest hand breeding or AI if you plan on breeding her in the future. She foaled a colorful roan filly on May 15th, 2010 and I couldn't be more happy with what she and Spirit throw. I would keep her for riding, but have found that I barely have enough time to start the young ones. She is fun to ride and deserves a home that will use her to her fullest. Skylar Johnson is the new proud owner of both Skipper and her 2010 filly Ash. He plans on having a lot of fun with both of them and we look forward to updates from him of their adventures. |
